You are probably aware that R22

refrigerant is completely banned from the

end of the year.

After 31 December 2014, any remaining R22

systems that break down and need gas will

become unusable, or very expensive to run

and maintain as 'drop in' refrigerants lead to

ineffi ciency and unreliability.

Some businesses and individuals already have

plans in place and are replacing their old air

conditioning systems.

However, many others have not yet planned

a replacement - risking no cooling or

heating from an old system in the event of a

breakdown, which means unhappy tenants,

potential loss of revenue and, at the very least,

many complaints.

It is estimated that up to 20,000 old air

conditioning systems are still installed - so

there are plenty of opportunities to help

customers with R22 replacement planning.

VRV-Q replacement systems permit re-use

of refrigerant piping for a low-cost, fast

installation that minimises disruption in

the building. Customers also benefi t from

the vastly reduced running costs of a more

effi cient, modern system that carries a new

warranty.

For installers, this is a big opportunity - and

already we have seen a signifi cant increase in

demand for replacement systems. For more

information on the opportunities of VRV-Q,
